About me

Hi, I’m Emma! I’m a Speech Pathologist with over 14 years of experience supporting children and families across early intervention, disability, and community health settings. I graduated from the University of Sydney in 2009. I have spent my career working with a wide range of communication needs, abilities and developmental differences, including autism and ADHD. I have also worked as a Senior Clinician and Clinical Supervisor, mentoring other therapists.

I focus on building communication and social language skills so children can easily connect with others. To support the relationships that matter most, I visit children where they learn and play. I get to know each child's unique strengths and build evidence-based communication strategies directly into everyday routines and play.

Having been born and raised on the Central Coast, I am so grateful to be raising my own family here. It is a privilege to work with the beautiful children and families in this area.

Assessment

I take the time to understand your child's strengths, communication skills and areas where they may need support.

Assessments may include play-based activities, formal assessment tools, observation and discussions with family and educators.

Together, we can identify areas to focus on how best to help your child with their communication goals.

Following the assessment, you can choose to receive a written report.

Intervention

Intervention is tailored to your child’s needs, strengths and interests, using evidence-based approaches.

Therapy sessions are engaging and play-based, using your child’s interests to build communication and social skills.

I work closely with family and educators to support your child’s progress.

Where helpful, I can also create individualised resources to support your child’s communication goals.

Areas of Support

Some of the areas I can help with include:

Speech - Helping children use clear speech sounds

Language - Helping children understand others and express their thoughts and needs.

Social Communication - Helping children interact with others, build relationships and take part in social situations.

Fluency - Supporting children who stutter, including repeating sounds or words, stretching out sounds or getting stuck while speaking.

Feedback from families

Emma is such a wonderful therapist. Jay is now saying his first words, and we are having longer interactions with him. Before starting therapy, I wasn’t sure how to support his communication, but Emma has helped me understand how Jay learns and how I can help him.

Kelly

Parent

Emma is patient, calming and positive. She creates such a lovely environment for children and makes therapy a really positive experience.

Danielle

Parent

Emma is flexible and makes therapy so enjoyable for my children. She involves all my children in Kate's sessions. They have so much fun, and we have seen a big improvement in Kate’s speech sounds.

Maria

Parent

Emma has been working with Tim since he was a baby and has supported him throughout his development. She has helped us with his speech, swallowing, language and social skills.

Emma is patient, kind, supportive and fun. Tim always enjoys his sessions and will interact with her for the entire visit, which is something he can find difficult.

Emma is also very supportive of Tim’s wider team and communicates closely with his doctors, nurses and social workers to ensure everyone is working together to support him.
